While I very much appreciate all the time @javierpaniza spends to answer questions here, I also think SourceForge forums, in 2021, are not the best place to offer community support. Javier himself is posting at least some of the solutions given here to StackOverflow too, which is a way bigger community than SF nowadays, and I'm tempted to post questions about OpenXava there instaed of here.

However, while I'm sure if I post here Javier will see my question, I'm not sure the same happens if I post my question to stackoverflow, and I'm not sure OpenXava community is big enough to find anyone skilled on it at stackoverflow.

Should I keep posting questions here or is StackOverflow a better choice for OpenXava community support?

    Hi Lucio:

Should I keep posting questions here or is StackOverflow a better choice for OpenXava community support?

I follow the openxava tag in StackOverflow, so if you ask there I will answer you. So, you can choose.

Some years ago we tried to move the official OpenXava support from SourceForge forums to StackOverflow. The experience was awful, so we came back to SourceForge. The problem is that when an OpenXava user added a question to StackOverflow immediately the StackOverflow censors (moderators) removed the question, so I have no time to answer anyone.

In StackOverflow you have to write a good title, a good explanation, put code examples or screenshot, put the stacktrace, etc. Few people are able to do this, at least to do it when they are starting. Here many newcomers, just put in the title "OpenXava fails" and in the description. "How I can fix it?". Then I have to explain him that I have not magic powers, so they have to put source code, stacktrace, etc. This process is impossible in StackOverflow.

I'm working now in adding question/answer in StackOverflow with meaningful title, so you can look using Google for any OpenXava question. This also has the goal of low-down the activity in this forum. If you find your question in Google you don't need to ask in the forum.
