Quite right, apologies. Here's what you do:
(1) Remove anything MS Project allows you to do, which you should not be able to do. This means do not have resources assigned to Milestones or to Summary Tasks. Do not have any Dependencies on Summary Tasks.
(2) Make sure your Resources are "clean": no special characters in resource names or initials. Make sure your resource initials are "unique" (i.e. one instance only of each combination). This is because OWB uses the Resource Initials field from MSP as its Resource ID field.
(3) Save your MSP plan in xml format.
(4) Open the xml using OWB. It should convert and open automagically.
