I don't know of a cause for that error other than not setting
OPENVRML_DATADIR properly. Make sure you haven't mistyped the path to
the data directory.

They don't have much meaning on Windows. On POSIXy platforms, they
refer, respectively, to the installation roots for OpenVRMLs
architecture-independent data and its dynamically loaded modules.
To complete the Windows story here, I need to define some registry keys
that can be set by an installer for a similar purpose.
