Hello all, I've been tearing my hair out over this error message for nearly a week. I don't know where to go from here as the connection succeeds and does work for a while. Then later the connection drops. This leads me to believe that it is not a firewall issue and has to be something with OpenVPN itself. I've read the FAQ, searched the mailing list archives, googled, and I'm still stuck. Any suggestions? hi Jerr Do you have any solution to your problem? I'm also having the same problem. My point to point OpenVPN was working fine for a long time and then it suddenly went down with the "TLS Error: TLS key negotiation failed to occur within 60 seconds" error. After about 18 hours, the TLS key negotiation succeeded at all was okay again. Thank you Gui ----- Original Message ----- From: Jeff Peeler <jef...@tr...> To: ope...@li... Hi, =20 Have either of you discovered what the problem was here? I still suffer from this problem myself. =20 As a workaround, I have set the two remote clients I have to restart openvpn once per hour. This keeps them up and running smoothly, but is less than ideal. I have about 6 other clients which run smoothly using the exact same configuration. =20 It seems a SIGTERM and starting openvpn fresh automatically recovers the connection. But doing a soft restart (SIGHUP) does not recover the connection. The difference to the network here I think is that the SIGHUP stays on the same port pair (by the way, I am using UDP). My best guess as to what is happening is the NAT firewalls the problem clients are behind might be timing out their NAT sessions. Changing the port pair makes the connection come up right away.=20 It might be nice if openvpn would use a new port pair after a TLS timeout. Perhaps this would get around NAT session timeouts in a clean way. Any thoughts on that? =20 -Darren > -----Original Message----- > From: ope...@li...
