I am looking at using OpenVPN for our network. We have two remote offices, and people would also like to connect from home. We have an Exchange server running in house. What's the best setup for OpenVPN? We have a 450 MHz machine with 128 MB. Will that work? What operating system works best for OpenVPN? Thanks. ==================================================== Chris Baker -- technical specialist 614-839-2447x108 cb...@bb... www.bbbscentralohio.org Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Ohio Opinions expressed in this e-mail are solely my own. Yes pinging and VNC all work perfectly. One machine even pops up in network browsing. I can connect to local shares (*not* on the VPN subnet) without problem via computer name or IP address. Nothing about SMB seems to be operating over the VPN and that goes for: -XP->W2K remotely -W2K->W2K on local network -other W2K->XP remotely Tearing my hair out cos I can't see what has changed. In all other respects the VPN is working fine. Have tried b11->b14, b14->14 and b11->b14. m Mike, I doubt that something changed in OpenVPN between beta11 and beta14 that would have specifically broke samba but nothing else. Can you run anything over the VPN, such as FTP, VNC, etc? It helps to know what works and what doesn't -- that will tell us whether it's an OpenVPN problem or a samba problem.
