| Hello, I am totally frustrated over this problem. I have read a dozen posts about it with no luck. For starters: 1) I have my Tap adapter enabled. I tried disabling and re-enabling. No luck. 2) My tap Adapter *does* show up on Network Connections, however, ipconfig *does not* show any tap adapters at all. OpenVpn --show-net *does not* show any Tap devices either. 2.1) Device manager shows it as "TAP-Win32 Adapter V8", it is *not* hidden and says it is working correctly. Characteristics is 0x81 in registry. 2.2) I have two additional Tap Adapters that got installed with openVpn: "TAP-Win32 Adapter V8 - CommStudio Virtual Adapter By TamoSoft" and "TAP-Win32 Adapter V8 - Minipuerto del administrador de paquetes". These last two however, show up as hidden. 3) Of course I did try uninstalling and reinstalling at least 5 times the whole OpenVPN package, including the tap adapter, making sure every trace o= f it gets completely deleted from the registry before reinstalling. 3.1) I am using version 2.0.2 downloaded 2 weeks ago from http://openvpn.net/download.html 4) Firewall is of course OFF. No other personal firewalls are installed. 5) I have no antivirus Software installed at all, so no other firewalls could be messing with it. 6) I am on a Dial Up connection to the internet. Setup: Windows XP professional SP2. Spanish When I try to connect to my bridged VPN server, I get the following error: Sun Oct 30 22:26:01 2005 TAP-WIN32 device [my-tap] opened:\\.\Global\{60727E9C-93CA-4091-AB85-71F059F641BA}.tap Sun Oct 30 22:26:01 2005 TAP-Win32 Driver Version 8.1 Sun Oct 30 22:26:01 2005 TAP-Win32 MTU=3D1500 Sun Oct 30 22:26:01 2005 Notified TAP-Win32 driver to set a DHCP IP/netmask of 1 0.0.133.71/255.255.255.0 <http://0.0.133.71/255.255.255.0> on interface {60727E9C-93CA-4091-AB85-71F059F641BA} [DHCP-serv: 10.0.133.0<http://10.0.133.0>, lease-time: 31536000] Sun Oct 30 22:26:01 2005 NOTE: could not get adapter index for \DEVICE\TCPIP_{60 727E9C-93CA-4091-AB85-71F059F641BA}, status=3D55 : El recurso de red o el dispositivo especificados ya no se encuentran disponibles. I know my configuration file is correct, because I have succesfully installed an openvpn client under another windows XP SP2 computer (with different sets of certificates of course, it is not a client clash) with th= e very same config file (albeit the certs). The only difference between computers is the OS language. The problem machine is Spanish, the client with no problem is in english. One other difference is one machine is on a dialup link, the other one is on cable. Help Please! |
