Please help, as I am a Linux newbie

I  have managed to install the Mesa, GLX, etc stuff and the actual Unreal tournament with the new patch witch should support my NVidia GeForce
    card. I have the XFree86 3.3.6 installed.

When I try to run UT, I get this error message:
Couldn't set GL mode: No video modes supported. (??)
    Signal: SIGSEGV [segmentation fault]

    What might be wrong.

      I have a similar prob.
UT installs fine. I apply the 413a patch fine. Run it and the windows comes up then quits out.

My Setup : Mandrake 7, nVidia graphics Card(TNT2 ultra). SDL-1.1.3-1 & SDL-devel-1.1-3 installed (required for UT). Xdelta installed from RPM, unable to find source version on net.

Could you post a log output?

At first glance it looks like the mode you have asked to use in the UnrealTournament.ini file is not available under X - i.e. there are no valid modelines in XF86Config for the mode you want to use. Could be wrong though. A log would be very helpful - as would the output from strace if available.

<mutter> I must write the troubleshooting HOWTO one of these days...
