It seems a problem with the encoding of the e-mail. Please check what character encoding the client program is using to display the message (i.e. in Thunderbird: Options -> Character encoding" This should be utf-8 (afair), but probably is using iso-8559 Hmm, looking more deeply in the email template I see that the character encoding is fixed to iso-8559-1. Try changing the templates/plugins/email/notify.tpl Change lines: Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8559-1" and Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8559-1" to Content-Type: text/plain; charset="utf-8" and Content-Type: text/html; charset="utf-8" to put it more simple replace all iso-8559-1 to utf-8 in the file. :) I should get the language encoding, but have no time now to look at what it should be set to. Let me know. Hi Oliver, > > > I have a little problem with the notify.tpl when I receive the mail, the > mail is truncated after the remove link, any idea? No, not really. have you modified the template? What e-mail client/server are you using? The only thing I can think of right now is the server truncating it 'cause of the link at the bottom (i.e. MailScanner might do this) Actually the only thing that it is after the remove link is the "copyright" message in the notify.tpl Alessandro |

Alessandro, Thanks again for your advice. I have managed to get this working. The problems were as follows:- The $CONFIG[WWW_SERVER'] entry was incorrect. I had not correctly published the directory in apache. I also had not compiled PHP with MySQL support. Once I went through the above it began to function. Very very nice piece of software, well done to you! Thanks for your help and patience. Hi Alessandro, Thanks for your reply. I went ahead and installed mysql, created the database as per your instruction, ran the sql scripts and the tables were created. Now when I browse to the directory I get a blank page. I think there maybe something wrong in my config file. Contents of openupload/www/config.inc.php :- /* Define the installation folder */ $CONFIG['INSTALL_ROOT']='/var/www/html/openupload'; /* define http:// address */ $CONFIG['WWW_SERVER']='http://brubeck'; /* define the additional web path i.e. /openupload */ $CONFIG['WWW_ROOT']='/openupload'; . . . . /* MYSQL / POSTGRES Database */ #$CONFIG['database']['type']='pgsql'; $CONFIG['database']['type']='mysql'; /* Detail for dbconnection */ $CONFIG['database']['host']='localhost'; $CONFIG['database']['user']='openupload'; $CONFIG['database']['password']='openupload'; $CONFIG['database']['name']='openupload'; /* TXT Database */ # $CONFIG['database']['type']='txt'; # $CONFIG['database']['rootdir']=$CONFIG['INSTALL_ROOT'].'/txtdb'; /* Table name prefix: should be common */ $CONFIG['database']['prefix']=''; /* AUTHENTICATION MODULE */ /* default uses the database table users */ # $CONFIG['auth'] = 'ldap'; $CONFIG['auth'] = 'default'; /* TRANSLATION MODULE */ #$CONFIG['translator']='none'; #$CONFIG['translator']='gettext'; $CONFIG['translator']='phparray'; $CONFIG['defaultlang']='en'; . . . . . . Should the contents of var/www/html/openupload/www be copied over to the /openupload ? Sorry for all the questions. Nope, it's simply missing documentation, you are not the only one asking this... We testing your promisingly software for a restricted dataportal with
access for our customers.
But I have some understanding problems, especially for the Administration
/ Rights / [A Group] workspace. A sample for the group admins:
Module Action
files u
d
g
r
l
[default]
auth login
profile
logout
register
[default]
admin [default]
[ANY] [default]
So, what does means
"u" (upload?), "d", "g", "r", "l", "[default]"
"login", "profile", ....
...
exactly?
I read the delivered documentation, but I cannot found the needed
information.
Does I overlook some documentation?
I would appreciate your help.

For other 1und1 customers: $CONFIG['database']['host']='localhost:/tmp/mysql5.sock'; This is the good and working choice. openupload-0.4.1 Our webspace is hosted by the german provider 1und1. The access to the mysql database is not the default. So, we have problems accessing it with your software. The command for a database dump is: mysqldump -h localhost -u[MyUser] -p[MyPWD] -P 3316 -S/tmp/mysql5.sock [DBName] and it works fine. I would appreciate your help. Walter Laub |

Well, that should already be implemented: 1. e-mails sent to the users are sent out with system e-mail address (i.e. you uploaded a file). 2. e-mails sent via openupload for some destination use the e-mail of the user if specified (or available) (i.e. an upload is ready for you) If it's not working like that please report. It appears that there is a single email setup for the system. When errors occur (like a wrong email address) they come to this system email. it would be really nice to have the response go to the individuals account email rather than the system account (or maybe both). This way the user would know faster that they had typed in bad information for the email to deliver to. it would also really be nice to use that user account email to send the email from or at least a choice to do that. I know in some instances this might not work depending on how you setup accounts. but in most cases if you are using accounts within a company you could and it would be really nice to have the return address be the individual rather than the system account as if the recipient needs more info they will have the originators account very handy. --Matt |

[For the others check this [1] ] Hi Samuel, I'm pasting here my answer to the problem you have on your installation: I basically see 3 problems here (the 3rd concerns more security): 1. The configured paths are somehow wrong. They should be: $CONFIG['WWW_SERVER'] = 'http://setonprojects.fr'; $CONFIG['WWW_ROOT'] = '/fileshare/www'; $CONFIG['INSTALL_ROOT'] = '/home/setonpro/www/fileshare'; $CONFIG['DATA_PATH'] = '/home/setonpro/www/fileshare/data'; /* see the 3rd point on security */ 2. The sub www directory is not accessible (permission problems, mod_rewrite? Please check) i.e. http://setonprojects.fr/fileshare/www/ raises a internal server error. 3. At least the data directory should be outside your web server search path (or at least as a minimum security disable indexing in the web server) see: http://setonprojects.fr/fileshare/data/ (is world accessible) The following is not necessary but very suggested for production use. If you want to have a production use of openupload I'd suggest you do the following: Untar/ungzip the openupload in /home/setonpro (so you have a /home/setonpro/openupload directory which is not accessible by the web server) then copy/move the www sub directory to /home/setonpro/www/fileshare (where the config.inc.php file is) Then set the paths to the following: $CONFIG['WWW_SERVER'] = 'http://setonprojects.fr'; $CONFIG['WWW_ROOT'] = '/fileshare'; $CONFIG['INSTALL_ROOT'] = '/home/setonpro/openupload'; $CONFIG['DATA_PATH'] = '/home/setonpro/openupload/data'; Obviously you'll probably will need to fix the permissions on the templates_c, data and data/tmp directories. Hope this solves your problem. Alessandro [1] http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=2930618&group_id=242018&atid=1117805 |

Hmm, maybe you used fsutil to generate the file ... Could you give us more info on the installation? Operating System, apache and php version? The apache log check should anyway point you to the right solution. Hi Daniel, (please subscribe to the list) For what I understand even fsutil is failing in creating file larger than 1GB? If so the problem might lie in the operating system / file system limitation... If not so then could you check the apache logs to see if something is failing? Hi all and thank you for your work. I have a problem uploading large files : tested with "fsutil file createnew c:\test2.txt 900000000" from 0 to 1 048 576 000 octet (1000mega) : OK greater... KO... i mean even no progress bar (using apc) only the circle turning but with empty scoring... my conf : apache2 : No LimitRequestBody set (so it s unlimited no ?) and php.ini max_execution_time = 300 ; Maximum execution time of each script, in seconds max_input_time = 600 ; Maximum amount of time each script may spend parsing request data ;max_input_nesting_level = 64 ; Maximum input variable nesting level memory_limit = 64M ; Maximum amount of memory a script may consume (16MB) post_max_size = 5G upload_max_filesize = 5G any idea ? I wasn't able to figure this issue out...... I decided to reinstall the whole thing on a new server and it is working great now. The box I was having trouble with has had a lot of development work done on it, so there are a lot of remnants from past projects. I appreciate the assistance you provided, keep up the great work.
