Very happy with openupload and have tweaked it a bit to really make it slick for us. But, for whatever reason, people don¹t seem to want to do the notification part post-upload. Do others have this issue? Basically, I get alerted by the receiver that the file is there from the sender and I have to pop-in as admin and see the file id then send the link to the receiver. Have other run into this? If so, have you done anything to mod the notification page or something to let the senders know just uploading doesn¹t do it and you NEED to let the person receiving know how to get the file(s) you are sending? Any help appreciated. Jonathan ................................ The fact that it's logged in as unregistered either it means open upload cannot find any group associated to the user in the ldap (with the configuration parameters in config.inc.php), or that the groups found in ldap have no permissions in open upload itself. Let me know if you need further info. Alessandro |

Hi all, I've been playing with openupload and so far it seems to be a great application. I have ldap authentication working. Working, in that the ldap tree is searched and if a valid username/password combination are sent, the user is logged in. It seems though that ldap users are logged in as being unregistered. Is there a way to configure openupload to treat all valid ldap users as being registered? Please advise and thanks. Aaron |

Hi. I just re-send a better version of a patch I've previously posted. This patch implement a plugin for authentication called httpldap. It relies on apache for user authentication, and then uses an LDAP directory to get all the remaining informations (name, mail, group membership etc...). In fact, the httpldap plugin uses the standard ldap plugin, and just re-implement the authenticate function. I've written this to integrate openupload with LemonLDAP::NG SSO engine The patch is attached. Maybe it can be useful for others. Regards, Daniel -- Daniel Berteaud FIREWALL-SERVICES SARL. Probably the function which sends the e-mail should distinguish between this. Right now I have no time to check where the problem lies (also as I don't know any chinese similar language to write and check) Probably with new version using the swift mailer can fix this, or simply backporting the mail function and library from SVN solves it. I am referring to this thread https://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?thread_name=4B900175.8040102%40briosix.org&forum_name=openupload-devel about utf-8 language (e.g double byte chinese). After adding html_entity_decode($subject), the subject can display correctly but the description is still html_encoded. I check into the mysql database and found that the description in the database is also html_encoded. where in the mysql code can fix it. |

If needed I could create one if needed, but as I don't speak French it should be moderated by someone which does. It should run out of the box (at least I did my best to make it simple), the problem is that every distribution has it's different configurations and every user seems to use it in a different manner. Of course Open Upload ain't perfect and could be my fault, there are many checks which should be done and aren't. The Paths are a bit complicated to understand, the database by default is not populated... If you can detail what the problems are I (and others on the mailing list I hope) can help you out. Ciao, Alessandro |

Hi, please note that svn version is not complete yet, but should mostly
work.
Anyway I might suspect of some javascript which alerts an exit or so, it
might be some debug code which I left behind. (something like alert('exit')
)
You can check by running something like:
find . -name \*.tpl | xargs grep alert
Hope it helps. If not please provide me more info.

I've found a problem with Active Directory authentication that is not really a problem. $CONFIG['ldap']['user'] seems to refer to AD user/uid name but I have found that it refers to RDN (friendly name). So if you have an AD user which login name is "temp" but it's friendly name is "temporary user", you should use "temporary user" as $CONFIG['ldap']['user'] parameter. This is due to the ldap_bind function used in "ldap.inc.php". As defined in its manual, the user name refers to RDN. http://php.net/manual/en/function.ldap-bind.php |

The problem here is that version 0.4.x use the php built in method for the upload which means you cannot go over the 2gb limit. In svn version there is some experimental code which demands that to a modified version of uberuploader cgi which should handle the 12gb (but I have no idea if there's some limit in perl cgi or apache) One thing to consider is that uploading 12gb might really take a long time and if something goes wrong you have to restart the upload. Also right now the download has the same limitation, resume is not possible. (I have looked at some php code to implement the resume, but cannot figure out yet on how to apply restrictions to that) Maybe having a simple user -> directory with authentication in apache or a "simple" FTP server would be better to handle such a distribution. Hope this helps. Alessandro |
