Hello :)
Sorry for my bad english. Im French. Primary, felicitation for ur Job !
I try to install openupload on a CentOS 7 and after the installation script i have an error message.

Fatal error: Smarty error: unable to write to $compile_dir '/var/www/html/openupload/templates_c'. Be sure $compile_dir is writable by the web server user. in /var/www/html/openupload/lib/smarty/Smarty.class.php on line 1092

My apache's user is "apache" and have write access to the folder "templates_c" no problem with that but the error message dont disapear and i have a white page.

I try to make manual install and the probleme was the same.

I use centOS 7 and PHP 5.4.16

well. 5.4 should work afair. the error seems to be a permission problem on the folder...

This is such an old issue...
The error is pretty much simple, maybe some selinux
