C++ compiler cannot create executables

I'm getting this message with configure.. I know my compiler builds executables.. I'm running Debian 2.2's g++ for my compiler. Package: g++ 1:2.95.2-13. Any help getting past configure would be appreciated.

  I fixed this. It was a mising libstdc++.so link
