Hey thanks, that was the problem.

I think the "Hello World" tutorial could need a short paragraph on compiler
and linker settings.

It also took me some time to find out that I had to link with winsock.

Did you remember to enable RTTI?  I'd forgotten to do that when I first
compiled the simpleNet program and had the crash in the same location.  One
of those "oh ya" moments.
