A requirement for more ram could be real, since 1.4 is loading more subsystems
than before (I assume this is true).   I have always run my test sites and demo
opentaps in a virtuozzo VPS which has configurable ram limits.  I tried 1.4
without increasing limits used earlier for 1.0.x.

This doesn't explain why my download was missing ant though.
