I think I have read recently something about an akonadi plugin quite usable (quite is an important word ! I think the dev made a really good work, but nobody will charge him !) with 0.22 release of opensync... Am I right ? Where can I get it and instructions to build/install ? There is a KDE plugin for 0.22, but I don't think that is what you want. There is work being done on the 0.39 plugin for akonadi, but it is still in development. However it has gone from 0 to 60 in just a few weeks, so I'm hopeful that something to test will be available soon. - Chris |

So, currently, I use kdepim-sync, which I have installed by downloading rpm or deb and copy files in the correct directory => not the right way with my gentoo. -- Stéphane Guedon page web : http://www.22decembre.eu/ carte de visite : http://www.22decembre.eu/downloads/Stephane-Guedon.vcf clé publique gpg : http://www.22decembre.eu/downloads/Stephane-Guedon.asc |

I think the 0.40 libosync is better. It might be worth trying it out (after I have finished porting the plugin - there are still some minor issues to solve and it needs to be tested). > > So, currently, I use kdepim-sync, which I have installed by > downloading rpm or > deb and copy files in the correct directory => not the > right way with my > gentoo. I think you are using this also with 0.22. I have tried it too but had multiple duplicated items in kde and my mobile (syncml), which made me unhappy. I didn't investigate further, because I know 0.40 is to be released soon, so I think we should focus on using it. I'm optimistic about using it with akonadi. I need to get smarter about configuration and might be worth writing a guide. regards |

I will introduce some improvements next and would like to have someone testing it. If you are C/C++ developer you can share my work. The problem now is that I don't have that much time. The good thing is that it is almost finished. I need to redesign few things to support multiple collections, which I'll probably do this weekend, or next week. The thing is that I'm still using kde3 because of other issues and can not test it with a syncml yet. > > Syncing my N900 is something I *really* miss from my KDE installations > Yeah, me too! I'm missing meaningful syncing of calendar and contacts since I dropped the use of palm ... about 5years ago. So I have now nokia 5530 that should be good for syncml and in fact I did tested it with kde3, but it was nasty and "follow the white rabbit" brought me to the update of plugin, so I am optimistic having all those troubles in kde4 away which I'm planing to use next. Another issue to concern is the opensync release number. It will not work with 0.22! But someone will provide working installables from the current 0.40, don't worry that much about it! regards |
