[Opensync-users] Features for smartphones

Hi everybody,

I have just discovered OpenSync, which seems to be a good framework. I
appreciate the idea of having a standard framework which can be use to
fit to specific needs (i.e. mobile devices).

Unfortunately I didn't find clearly on the website what is currently
possible to do and how to do it. I am currently looking for a new
smartphone but before buying it, I want to be sure that I will be
possible to synchronize it with my Linux desktop. I am not focused on
any OS (PalmOS, Symbian, WinCE...) for my new smartphone, I just want
something that make my life easy to synchronize contacts (if possible
with Mozilla) and datas with my Linux desktop.

Is this actually possible with OpenSync? With which devices / OS?

you can use j2mesync <http://www.ohli.de/?J2MESync>. it can sync your data=20
from any j2me capable device(in case that it support jsr75 and jsr82) via=20
bluetooth.

the only problem is that opensync doesn't currently support vevent1.0, but=20
they are working on it. but you can use the multisync (0.8x) version at the =

moment or sync your contact only.

i'm using it with evolution2 but i think it will sync with any other=20
opensync plugin as well.
