[Opensync-users] Nokia 3110 Classic: "Member 2 of type syncml-obex-client had an error while getting changes: Request not successfull: 64"

After rigorous testing of alternative configuration an methods, I
still can't get SyncML over Bluetooth work with my Nokia 3110c.
Synchronization begins, then either hangs forever or fails with the
following error message:

Member 1 of type evo2-sync just sent all changes
Member 2 of type syncml-obex-client had an error while getting
changes: Request not successfull: 64
Member 1 of type evo2-sync just disconnected
Member 2 of type syncml-obex-client just disconnected
All clients have disconnected
The sync failed: Unable to read from one of the members
Error synchronizing: Unable to read from one of the members
Pipe closed! Exiting.

The phone spits out an error at the beginning of the synchronization
process, which makes me think that syncml-obex-client fails at the
beginning. Curiously, I have managed to synchronize all contacts,
calendar and tasks with Evolution -- but my phone seem unable to
synchronize with Evolution.

Anyway, what does this error code 64 mean?

Hi Stefan,

until Tuesday nearly all Nokia S40 devices did not work with libsyncml
because of a bug in libwbxml. The patch for libwbxml is on the way into
the distros. You can see it at http://opensync.org/~bellmich/libwbxml/.

This is no Nokia and no libsyncml bug. Actually we started an effort to
get a more community based libwbxml maintenance approach.

So sorry for the trouble

Hi Michael,

Thanks for a quick reply.

Will this patch also find its way to Ubuntu Hardy (8.04 LTS)? I have
problems installing the package at the page you pointed at because of
dependencies that boils down to a new libc6, and I don't want to
install that... :-)

I think Samm and azeem discussed Ubuntu on the IRC channel yesterday.
The problem is that the libwbxml on 8.04 is really outdated. Perhaps the
easiest way is to ask Samm on IRC what he did because he use 8.04 and
finally its Nokia works since Tuesday.
