Hello, i try to set up opensync 0.33 on my arch linux box. Compiling and installing libsyncml,wbxml2,libopensync,libopensync-plugin-file, libopensync-plugin-syncml,libopensync-plugin-vformat seemed to work. Multisync-gui 0.90.17 has a problem: checking for glib-2.0 opensync-1.0 osengine-1.0... Package osengine-1.0 was not found in the pkg-config search path. Perhaps you should add the directory containing `osengine-1.0.pc' to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable No package 'osengine-1.0' found configure: error: Library requirements (glib-2.0 opensync-1.0 osengine-1.0) not met; consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if your libraries are in a nonstandard prefix so pkg-config can find them. make: *** No targets specified and no makefile found. Stop. Where do i get opensync-1.0 from? I haven't found any such package in your download folder. thx |

Hi Ben,
it's is rather simple to get IrMC to work with K800i:
<config>
<connectmedium>bluetooth</connectmedium>
<btunit>xx:yy:zz:aa:bb:cc</btunit>
<btchannel>8</btchannel>
</config>
Just set your BT identification in your config file.
#########################################
By the way:
Here some update:
1) I switched to dual booted WinXP to backup my SMS on PC
(all Linux programs that I found - including wammu -=20
had problems with SMS download,...)
and removed all messages from before 2008
((did the backup with "My Phone Explorer"))
2) I upgraded also my firmware with SEUS to
R1KG001 - a revision from April 2007
(SEUS didn't provide me the newest R8BA024 as this
might not be released for O2??)
3) Deleted all contacts and calendar entries
(due to forced slow sync ....)
NOW I got all calendar events to K800i - including the missing ones from =
before.
Important:
The amount of SMS was before 505 of possible 958 - so this shouldn't =
have=20
caused the problem.
OR - this might be the problem, if "My Phone Explorer" counted only the =
amount=20
of SMS - which might be wrong in this case, as I write many long SMS =
(package=20
of several SMS ...).
RESUME:
Whoever has such a problem should try to upgrade firmware and to backup =
some=20
SMS to PC (and remove them afterwards on K800i).
Sorry that I didn't test each variant on its own - I didn't want to dual =
boot=20
back and forth ...
Interesting note:
Wammu is NOW also able to read my SMS - the remaining 42 messages.
So maybe I had too many messages for wammu, or some content disturbed =
wammu's=20
SMS download.
Bye,
Achim

All your cmake calls need a "-DLIB_SUFFIX=64" flag tacked on, i.e. cmake -DLIB_SUFFIX=64 -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=$OPENSYNC_BUILD ../ I edited the wiki page to reflect this: http://www.opensync.org/wiki/devel-branch-0.30 You should probably also do "export LIBSUFFIX=lib64". If you're not on 64-bit, well then I dunno what the problem is. =) Good luck, mb |

Hi, my Sony Ericsson works basically fine with 0.22. The only problem: I get a "memory full" (German: "Speicher voll") warning when my calendar is synced. BUT the amount of calendar entries is not high - its about 50 (at least if one birthday is only counted once). I tried already to delete all events from the K800i and to reload the calendar entries from KDE. I did also remove all older events from KDE Calendar. The "memory full" error blocks already the sync of some new events. Is it possible, that K800i stores all recurring birthday events not only once, but several times on history and future? How can I find detect the reason for the memory limitation - maybe something else consumes all the memory. ## I'd like to try limiting the synchronisation to some few weeks in past and some months in future. This might solve the problem, as some other Windows users mentioned in some other forums, that this would have solved their problem. Thanks, Achim |

Hello, I have a problem syncing over Bluetooth with syncml-obex-client. The first steps in the synchronization work fine: [0] nokile:~$ msynctool --sync bluetooth Synchronizing group "bluetooth" The previous synchronization was unclean. Slow-syncing Member 1 of type evo2-sync just connected received event dsession received contact dsession Member 2 of type syncml-obex-client just connected All clients connected or error Member 1 of type evo2-sync just sent all changes Received an reply to our Alert Received an reply to our Alert Going to receive 315 changes Received an entry 940 with data of size 4 from member 2 (syncml-obex-client). Changetype ADDED [...] but when all entries have been received from the mobile phone, something happens with the bluetooth connection. My bluetooth applet suddenly tells me that "nokile-0: device has been made discoverable" (nokile-0 is the Bluetooth name of the computer). Immediately afterwards the sync fails with Member 2 of type syncml-obex-client had an error while getting changes: Link Error Member 2 of type syncml-obex-client just disconnected Member 1 of type evo2-sync just disconnected All clients have disconnected The sync failed: Unable to read from one of the members Error while synchronizing: Unable to read from one of the members On the mobile I get a "Process aborted" error a few seconds later. It seems to me that the computer briefly interrupts the Bluetooth connection as soon as the changes have been received, but before any changes have been send. Has anyone else experienced this problem or an idea how to fix it? Thanks in advance, -Nikolaus -- Nik...@ra... | College Ring 6, 28759 Bremen, Germany Class of 2008 - Physics | Jacobs University Bremen »My opinions may have changed, but not the fact that I am right.« |

Hi folks! While syncing a WM 2003 Smartphone (2 devices testet... T-Mobile SDA and MDA II) with evolution, some characters where converted wrong. (for ONE character in mobile device, there are MANY rectangles with a question mark in it for evolution...) These characters are called "Umlaute" in german and some of these are Ä Ü Ö ä ü ö ß Is there a way to change codepage in OpenSync ??? Maybe another solution is still existing... Best regards Bjoern |

Hello all! New to the list. I have a moto Q with windoze mobile 5. I also use opensuse 10.3. Can opensync.kitchensync be used to sync email/contacts etc with the Q? I use kontact 1.2.4 or kdepim3 3.5.7 as email client. |

But default Ubuntu packages has the same problem.. > Or even better try latest SVN. Ok, I will try it soon.. Ubuntu 7.10 is known to ship by default a quite old version of libsyncml which has some buggy obex transport code (doesn't send final disconnect opcode which cause freeze of libsyncml...) Could you try at least libsyncml version 0.4.4? Or even better try latest SVN. best regards, Daniel |
