Hi Ken, multisync0.90 wasn't built by default after compiling in the root dir - it only produces msynctool as you point out. To build multisync0.90, I had to explicitly make and install from the gui subdir. Jason. Hi experts, I've just removed version multisync-0.82 and upgraded to multisync-0.90.18. In the old version I had a GUI called multisync, but in the new version all I can find is msynctool and although it appears to have installed ok I can't figure out how to probe my phone for its id etc? In Jason's last post he mentioned a command called multisync0.90 yet I dont even have this! Where's the old GUI gone? Ken. |

Hallo! I have a Palm and a SonyEricsson K750i. Synchonizing with the old Multisync works in principle. The only problem is that the Palm contains more addresses than the phone can hold. For my prior phones I have written a set of scripts that read the Palm phone book (under Linux) and extract the categories I like It then writes them to vcard (for Siemens via scmxx) or LDIF (Nokia via Gnokii). With this new phone this all does not work. I now set up OpenSync 0.18 to sync from file to irmc (Bluetooth). The software starts, but only the first synchonisation I got some addresses across. Now even that stoped working. The program reports a successful run, but the phone says "session failed". $ msynctool --sync vcard-K750i Synchronizing group "vcard-K750i" Member 1 of type file-sync just connected Member 2 of type irmc-sync just connected All clients connected or error Received a entry 0000.vcf without data from member 1. All clients have written Member 1 of type file-sync just disconnected Member 2 of type irmc-sync just disconnected All clients have disconnected The sync was successful Any ideas? Even when I extract a VCard from the phone and slightly modify it (e.g. add a character to the name), I cannot sync it back into the phone. How do I tell msynctool to overwrite all entries in the phone? Grüsse Michael |

I just compiled libopensync-0.18.tar.gz multisync-0.90.18.tar.gz and plugins for the first time. Whilst I was able to use rpmbuild -ta for most of them, I built the irmc plugin manually with (autoreconf -sfi;./configure;make install). I did this because I could not figure out how to install the pre-requisite openobex rpm, and I've already installed this without an rpm. Now, when I run multisync0.90, it doesn't detect the irmc plugin, even though msynctool --listplugins tells me it's OK. (see output below) I built multisync with (autoreconf -sfi;./configure;make install) in both the root and gui dirs. Any ideas on why multisync cannot find the irmc plugin? Thanks, Jason. ---------------------------------- [root@talby plugins]# uname -a Linux talby.logular.com 2.6.11-1.1369_FC4smp #1 SMP Thu Jun 2 23:08:39 EDT 2005 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux [root@talby plugins]# ls -la /usr/lib/opensync/plugins/ total 240 drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Dec 17 21:50 . drwxr-xr-x 4 root root 4096 Dec 17 20:58 .. -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 26996 Dec 17 21:17 evo2_sync.so -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 14984 Dec 17 20:57 file_sync.so -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 867 Dec 17 21:50 irmc_sync.la -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 157774 Dec 17 21:50 irmc_sync.so [root@talby gui]# msynctool --listplugins Available plugins: irmc-sync file-sync evo2-sync [root@talby plugins]# multisync0.90 Starting up! register plugins 0x9123068 env 0x9123068 name file-sync option (nil) env 0x9123068 name evo2-sync option 0x90f85cc env 0x9123068 name synce-plugin option 0x90f85cc loaded group irmc2file ** (multisync0.90:32433): WARNING **: Couldn't find pixmap file: multisync-0.90/multisync_small.png msync_open_mainwindow() show_pairlist Showing group irmc2file setting status Ready setting status Error initializing: Unable to get config data: Member has not been configured About to run gtk_main about to show plugins adding plugin irmc-sync adding plugin file-sync adding plugin evo2-sync plugin irmc-sync selected plugin irmc-sync selected plugin2 file-sync selected remote true plugin2 file-sync selected remote true opening irmc-sync plugin Unable to find MSyncPlugin (irmc-sync)!!! <=== this message occurs when I hit the "options" button when the "first plugin" dropdown has irmc-sync selected |

Just wanted to let people know, I've tried the 0.18 ebuilds out on and Athlon64 machine, they build fine but multisync and msynctool segfault regularly. Hi, I got a problem when trying to sync my T610 to file via opensync and the irmc-plugin: msynctool --sync irmcfile Synchronizing group "irmcfile" The previous synchronization was unclean. Slow-syncing Member 1 of type irmc-sync had an error while connecting: Cannot connect via OBEX. Member 2 of type file-sync just connected Member 2 of type file-sync just disconnected All clients have disconnected The sync failed: Unable to connect one of the members Error synchronizing: Unable to connect one of the members I use the following config file and have applied the segfault patch and the patch to compile without bluetooth: <config> <fixedst>true</fixedst> <donttellsync>true</donttellsync> <onlyphonenumbers>true</onlyphonenumbers> <dontacceptold>false</dontacceptold> <maximumage>7</maximumage> <translatecharset>true</translatecharset> <charset>ISO8859-1</charset> <alarmtoirmc>true</alarmtoirmc> <alarmfromirmc>true</alarmfromirmc> <convertade>false</convertade> <connectmedium>ir</connectmedium> <irname>T610 Series</irname> <irserial>351989001081230</irserial> <irdev>/dev/ttyS0</irdev> <cabletype>1</cabletype> <managedbsize>true</managedbsize> <fakerecur>true</fakerecur> <fixedst>true</fixedst> </config> multisync worked with excactly the same configuration. And another question: What about an ldap plugin for opensync? |

I've filed ticket 131 about this here: http://www.opensync.org/ticket/131 There are trace files from a P910i attached to the ticket. If you could update that ticket once you've merged your branch back to trunk I'd appreciate it a lot. Hi all, I have written a plugin for the GPE Palmtop Environment. It's working pretty good, though there are minor issues mainly on the pda side (all the conversion is done there and some fields are not yet supported). The transportation between opensync and the device works well and I don't expect many changes to be done at the plugin. It is currently available through the cvs server from GPE (http://cvs.handhelds.org/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/gpe/) but since the plugin itself is more tied to opensync than to GPE, I wanted to know, whether it is possible that I may use the svn repository of opensync. Have a nice day Martin |

Florian, That didn't do it for me (using address/Channel that works with rfcomm) but You pointed me to the info that I've been looking for i.e. address or "unit" and channel configuration tags. I still get -1 from BtOBEX_TransportConnect(...) I'll look deeper into the code ... At this point I really don't know anything about the underlaying structure of C-OBEX or irmc-sync. Is there code for automatic searching of units or does it need to be hardcoded? hi, i used the patch from lonestar and there's no segmentation fault any longer. thanks lonestar! But now i have another problem. i guess this is just a config problem... i created a pair with irmc and file. i created a simple vcard in file-dir and then tried to sync this vcard entry. opensync tells me then "unable to convert changes". There has been to same problem with multisync0.8. It's a compatibility problem with different vcard versions, i guess. I'm not sure if siemens s55 uses vcard 2.1 or older... With evo1 it worked, with evo2 it didn't... is it possible to convert vcards automatically with opensync? any ideas /suggestions? thanks, flo Am Sonntag, den 20.11.2005, 03:18 +0800 schrieb LoneStar: > Apply the patch attached, and then configure irmc plugin as the example > shows. hi, i tried 0.18 of opensync with the irmc plugin and the file-sync plugin. A sync between file-file works well, but then i tried to sync irmc-file. (Bluetooth). i get a "segmentation fault". I don't know if it's a bug or not, as i don't really know how to configure irmc. i tried to do some error tracing, but i found nothing in the log-files.
