[Opensync-devel] thunderbird/sunbird/lightening sync

Hi,

I'm looking to pull together all the pieces needed for syncing thunderbird,
sunbird, and lightening, into the opensync binary-meta build.

So far, I think the blueZync project is the current state of the art for
such syncing.  Am I right?  Is there anything additional to this that
I might need to look at?

Hi,

blueZync does not support recent versions of Thunderbird.
TB 2.0 is supported, TB 3.0 and later are not.
Sunbird/Lightning 0.9 is supported, >= 1.0 are not.

So, I believe that blueZync needs to be updated with respect to
1) The internal address-book and calendar formats used by TB/SB/Light
2) Multithreading
before being of much use today.

Now that the python plugin is in a fairly good state, I can return
to this... :-)

Thanks very much for the link.  In your summary of issues, you write:

	"Due to problems in OpenSync, the current blueZync codebase does
	not work reliably (for any version of Thunderbird / Lightning)."

Where can I find more information on these issues?  I can probably be of
more use fixing issues in opensync than blueZync.

In the link above, you write that you have about 20% of some work done.
Is this available publically that I could take a look at?  Do you have
a rough design in mind?

I'm starting from scratch on the TB API side of things, but I'm fairly
familiar now with the opensync code (no expert, but enough), so if you
run into issues with opensync itself, please let me know.
