[Opensync-users] gcal / palm synchronization

Hi,
I'm interested in writing something to accomplish calendar synchronization
between google calendar and a palm.  However, I am not familiar with this
stuff -- is opensync appropriate, and do users have to install some sort of
opensync client, or can it operate directly with the native palm calendar?
Sorry for the newb question, but any pointers would be appreciated.
