I've gone through the Initial installation page, and all went flawlessly except the last part. I ran this once, which synced kabc to the sync1 directory, and it copied fine, but also had a write error. So I ran it again, and here's what it looks like: # msynctool --sync kdefile Synchronizing group "kdefile" Member 2 of type file-sync just connected Member 1 of type kdepim-sync just connected All clients connected or error Member 2 of type file-sync just sent all changes Member 1 of type kdepim-sync just sent all changes All clients sent changes or error Member 1 of type kdepim-sync committed all changes. Member 2 of type file-sync committed all changes. All clients have written Member 2 of type file-sync just disconnected QFile::putch: Write operation not permitted Member 1 of type kdepim-sync just disconnected All clients have disconnected The sync was successful QFile::putch: Write operation not permitted # What write operation is not permitted? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- When I run Kontact and hit the Synchronization button, I get: libmultisynkpart.la not found Nope, it's nowhere to be found in Debian, according to a search in installed and uninstalled packages using kpackage. What does it want? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The above command-line sync only synced those contacts in the std.vcf file, and not those in a second addressbook which is in the separate vcard file subdirectory format. Does Opensync only sync the single file format? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- OK, so OpenSync can sync kontact files to a subdirectory under my user. I need to sync contacts between a WM2003 PDA and Kontact. Is this possible? If so, can you reference the HowTo, as I can not find it in the Wiki. |
