--wbxml seems not to be supported as options on the syncml-http-server I
am using... (i.e. 0.4.0+svn20060706)

I am using the ubuntu dapper packages from
http://www.in.fh-merseburg.de/~jahn/

version ~0.18+svn20060614 ATM.

That would have solved a lot of problems :(
no, IrMC is not supported either on the p800 and the p900 devices.
The only sync method supported is syncml over http.

BTW I am also having problems having the ppp connection up for more than
2min... I am using gnubox...but this is another topic...
