[Opensync-users] problem compiling multisync

I'm following the instructions for installation to make an attempt to 
sync evo 2 with my motorola 925 using the new syncml plugin.

When I attempt to build multisync-0.90.18, the configure works fine but 
when I try to build I get

Am I missing something or done something incorrectly?
This is an i686 running Ubuntu 5.10.

Any suggestions welcome.
