On point (2), I suspect you are getting that because you are behind a proxy. I had the same problem from my NAT'ed network, but it just occurred to me that all my http traffic is transparently routed through a proxy. I turned it off for the machine I was trying to run svn from and it all works fine now. I haven't got as far as figuring out if it's a misconfigured proxy, or if it just won't work at all through a proxy. Someone else might be able to shed some light on this. Cheers, KEv.
