Stefan,

This appears to be a recent change, autogen.sh was there until quite
recently.

The commit log says
    Remove autogen.sh as it is deprecated, run autoreconf -is by hand to
    achieve the same results.

So there are two answers :
- you can run "autoreconf -is", this will solve your immediate problem
- I'm sure this will end up being documented
