If device vendors or other third party developers would be put off by the GPL, this would probably harm the project more than the missed opportunity to sell some licenses. I'm sure there are other ways to base a business model on OpenSync. One question though: You use libwbxml, which changed its license from LGPL to GPL. Is there a way around that?
