I am using Debian lenny/testing and the problem remains. I do have
up-to-date version of libebook package. What version the package did you
mean? 

Debian lenny, libebook1.2-9, kernel:  2.6.26-1-amd64 #1 SMP Mon Dec 15
17:25:36 UTC 2008 x86_64 GNU/Linux
