Hello. I'm about to purchase a cellular phone and I want this phone to synchronize the contacts and calendar with my computer via Bluetooth or USB, preferrably Bluetooth. I'm running Debian GNU/Linux 4.0, which has OpenSync 0.19. I'm attracted towards purchasing a Motorola i876 and I notice that it is not in the device lists. Why is there such an absence of Motorola devices from the list? Is there a chance that it will work? Am I much better off purchasing a device knows to work? Are there any recommendations? The devices that are offered "for free" by the local cellular operators are: Nokia 6120C Nokia 6288 Nokia 6267 Motorola K1 Motorola V3m Motorola L7 Motorola K3 Motorola V6 Samsung Z370 Samsung z240 Samsung R500 Samsung R510 SE K770i SE W910i SE K610 SE W660i SE K800i So I can choose from any of these without hurting my pocket. If there are models that are known-excellent support which are not in this list, I may consider paying extra to get one. Also, is there a company that is considered to be more opensource friendly? One that releases datasheets and such? I would tend to prefer that company's products. -- Shachar Or | שחר אור http://ox.freeallweb.org/ |
