Just to complete the confusion, I took a E65 and my old 6230i for
testing.
E65 fails with exactly the same error (however it has an old firmware
and is not mine, so I won't update it).
6230i works fine (as long there is no keypad lock active and you use
channel 11 instead of channel 10...)

So what the hell is going wrong on the E-series (yeah, they do sync
fine to windows :()
