    Hello.

I have downloaded the latest Catra streaming server (1.7) and am trying to run it on Windows 8.1 but it seems to be unable to start the Service.

    As Administrator, I have:

    1.unpacked it,
2.updated the IP addresses in the configuration file,
3.set the two BaseTraceFileName in the configuration file,
4.set the CATRASTREAMINGCONFIGURATIONPATHNAME environment variable to "D:\catrastreaming-1.7-pc-i386-Windows\cfg\CatraStreamingServer.cfg" and restarted the system,
5.opened all the ports on my router's firewall,
    6.turned off Windows Firewall,
    7.turned off anti-virus software.

I successfully ran "catraStreamingServer.exe -I", but every time I run "catraStreamingServer.exe -start" it seems to fail.

In the "C:\ServiceDebug.log" all it says is:

     Service catraStreaming starting...

     StartServiceCtrlDispatcher is calling...

     onInit is calling...

     Service started

Class: ConfigurationFileErrors, Code: 6, File: q:\mydisk\7_ext3_20gb\developmentworkingarea\catralibraries\configurationfile\src\y.tab.cpp, Line: 1510, Msg: The yyparse function failed (line: 16 - Message error: 'parse error')

Class: ToolsErrors, Code: 114, File: q:\mydisk\7_ext3_20gb\developmentworkingarea\catralibraries\tools\src\service.cpp, Line: 2709, Msg: The onInit function of the Service class failed

     StartServiceCtrlDispatcher called

In the trace directories there are no files created at all, no matter what traceLevel I set in the Configuration file.

Could anyone please suggest what the problem might be, or what I can try next?

    I'd really appreciate your help.

    Thank you.

Could it be it's 3 billion years old and no one's looked at it in 5 years?
      Just a guess.
