Whether you decide to build with or without the STLport you should still use the CVS HEAD over the 1.4.3 source package - if you already have CVS installed then this is a no-brainer. As I said in another reply: the only differences between the CVS HEAD and the 1.4.3 source package are currently some useful bug fixes - no changes in build environment yet. When I do check my changes in I will only check the updates that will work with or without the STLport into the HEAD. The changes that force you not to use the STLport will go in a branch to be merged back into the trunk once a few other poeple have verified them.
