By "latest" I meant the version current at the time of writing the News.txt file. I am, unfortunately, not blessed with precognition and so couldn't know how M$ would change their linker :-) In future I'll have the foresight to write the actual SDK version and not use such dateable phrases as "latest". > But when I tried I got a warning like this "LINK : warning LNK4089: > all references to "MSVCP60.dll" discarded by /OPT:REF" while > building ThreadPoolSALib.Did I do something wrong? How to solve this > problem? As Thierry says these are nothing to worry about and you will find that many of OpenSTAs projects produce these type of errors but are mostly overridden by /IGNORE options to the linker. In the past I've checked through to see if there was really a way to remove an item from being linked and if not easily possible I just add an /IGNORE for that warning. My theory is that it is easier to see the errors if you aren't being flooded by several hundred known warnings. Are you (anyone) finding any other issues building using the February 2003 SDK? Do your resulting OpenSTA installs suffer from less/more/ same amount of problems? I'm cautious of making the latest SDK the recommended build environment and using it to produce the "official" MSIs without a great deal of testing. I'd like to hear others thoughts on this though.
