Hi, I downloaded Opensta a few days back. So basically, I'm still very new to OpenSTA. I need your guidance and advise. I'm currently developing a project to measure and quantify end-user browsing experience. I'm trying to answer questions such as: What would an end-user experince when he/she goes to google.com or yahoo.com?, What are the average response time of these websites? How does access technology (i.e wireless, and ADSL) effect end-users browsing experience? To answer these questions, I've come up with a testing plan. I will borrow 10 laptops from my relatives and connect them to 10 different modems. The connection speed of the modems is at a constant 1Mbps. These 10 laptops will go to 5 popular websites ( google.com, yahoo.com & etc) every 15 minutes and measure the response time (the time it takes to fully load the page from an end-user perspective). An 11th laptop will be setup to collect data every hour or so, and properly produce a response time graph that i can analyze. My question is, can Opensta be configured to cater to such testing? or should i look for a different freeware. if so, any suggestions? Warm regards, Shakir |
