OpenSTA in general is beginning to show its age and I am convinced that without a major initiative for bug fixes and new features it will soon fade into history. A good example is the way SSL recording is done. The gateway's method of recording SSL is error prone, unreliable, and does not work with the latest versions of Mozilla and IE (version 7). This will be the beginning of the end of OpenSTA unless corrected. This is just the first in a long list of "must fix" and "should fix" items in OpenSTA. I am convinced that a commercial support offering is the only way OpenSTA will survive. I am also convinced that, with proper support and training, any company be can successful using OpenSTA as a primary load testing tool.
