#3 trace file import

There is a problem of sorts when importing projects that are composed
of both .ab1 trace data and 'textual' formatted sequence data. It seems
that the phred quality method assumes that trace data conversion will
be the first step and does not proceed. This is bogus because
historically there are a wide range of projects where we have don't have
access to the full set of trace data.
