Great work on your class library! It surpasses the commercial libraries I've looked at. Unfortunately, I cannot use it - your licensing terms prohibit me from doing so. The scenario I wanted to use it in was in a commercial, not-for-resale project.

You can use GPL licensed application within a commercial environment provided that you don't redistribute it and leave the license intact. See www.gnu.org for more information on proper use under the GPL.
I switched to the GPL license because I found people (that shall remain nameless) hacking up the application and selling it commercially, which is perfectly fine under the BSD license it used before, BUT what was not legal was the fact that they did not give proper credit to this project and removed the copyright. I work hard on this application to provide it to the general public, not so others can exploit it for their own benefit and call it their own. The GPL was the only way I could find to properly protect OpenSmtp.Net
Send me a detailed email on how you intend to use the library and I am sure we can find a way for you to use it - Ian Stallings

sorry to pick you up on this discussion, but I'm faced with a similar issue as Mr. Pitts. I would like to include it into a commercial Product.I've no problem including a copyright notice into the software next to ours and distribute the license file (which is a small enough request as it is), but GPL is a problem for me. Lesser GPL is very welcomed.
Let me also point out, that your readme.txt still refers to the BSD License.
Greetings,

The new release, a minor update, will have a clear LGPL. I have one bug to fix before I release though but it should be very soon, in the next few days hopefully. I have removed the BSD license in the new release also, thanks for pointing that out.

Thanks Ian. That clears up a lot. Email to follow later this week when I get a chance!
I'm changing the license to the Lesser GPL so hopefully this will clear it all up for you.
