Hi Joegen, Thank you for your reply.But i am encounter with loop in routes . with my same configuration of opensbc and changed configuration of sjphone(as suggested by you before ,proxy domain---- ipofSBC:portofSBC and user domain--- registrardomain:registrarport) i have tried to send register request to pcscf. But there(at pcscf ) it show message sent by--- ipofregistrar:portofregistrar instead of sent by ---ipofSBC:portofSBC. Hello, I have installed osbc on a debian etch. With help from the documentation most of the time was spent waiting for compilation to finish. So with very little effort I now have osbc up and running. My intention is to put our 3Com VCX system behind the osbc so that all sip messages and rtp traffic is routed through osbc when communication with other sip servers/providers. The problem is that the dial domain in the 3Com VCX is an ip address (it cannot be a domain name) and the ip address is the same as the ip address of the primary server. I've tried different settings to get this to work - with no luck. My question is: is there any chance that this will work - or should I stop wasting any more time on this? Hacks are welcome, I will happily recompile, produce logs, extensive testing and feedback to make this work. Regards, Ole Kaas |

Hello, Looks like there is a problem in the log files management when we switch to a new day. A new logfile seems to be created for SIP Log, but the PTRACE log keeps using the file the OSBC opened at startup. Can anyone confirm that bug ? Im running OSBC 1.1.5 on Solaris 10. Also, is there a way to save the entries currently in the registrar memory when operating in B2BUpperReg mode so that a server reboot or simply OSBC restart keeps the user location states ? SER does it that via a DB. Thanks, JD |

Devesh, Yes this is the right way. You are also in the right track by using B2BUpperReg mode. Juut make sure you configure SJPhone properly. Set Outbound Proxy = OpenSBC IP:port Set Domain = pcscf domain:port Joegen devesh bissa wrote: > Hi, I am trying to use opensbc with openims. i am trying to do following:- sjphone---->Opensbc----->pcscf---->icscf----->........ Davesh, For Upper registration to work, make sure that mydomainname.org does not resolve back to OpenSBC or else it won't try to relay the Registration. Try making mydomainname.org to resolve to sip:ipofregistrar:port instead. Can anyone tell me what the good iptables settings are to make OpenSBC work behind NAT (iptables) At the moment i have set it like this (see further). I can register .... but i don't hear a thing not from inside and not from outside the router. #PREROUTING # SIP (5060) NAT-STUN (3478) $IPT -t nat -A PREROUTING -p tcp -i $INET_IFACE -d $INET_IP --dport 5060 -j DNAT --to-destination $SIP_SRV_LAN_IP:5060 $IPT -t nat -A PREROUTING -p udp -i $INET_IFACE -d $INET_IP --dport 5060 -j DNAT --to-destination $SIP_SRV_LAN_IP:5060 $IPT -t nat -A PREROUTING -p udp -i $INET_IFACE -d $INET_IP --dport 30000:35000 -j DNAT --to-destination $SIP_SRV_LAN_IP $IPT -t nat -A PREROUTING -p udp -i $INET_IFACE -d $INET_IP --dport 3478 -j DNAT --to-destination $SIP_SRV_LAN_IP:3478 #FORWARD # VOIP $IPT -A FORWARD -p tcp -d $SIP_SRV_LAN_IP --dport 5060 -j ACCEPT $IPT -A FORWARD -p udp -d $SIP_SRV_LAN_IP --dport 5060 -j ACCEPT $IPT -A FORWARD -p udp -d $SIP_SRV_LAN_IP --dport 30000:35000 -j ACCEPT $IPT -A FORWARD -p tcp -s $SIP_SRV_LAN_IP --sport 5060 -j ACCEPT $IPT -A FORWARD -p udp -s $SIP_SRV_LAN_IP --sport 5060 -j ACCEPT $IPT -A FORWARD -p udp -s $SIP_SRV_LAN_IP --sport 30000:35000 -j ACCEPT #POSTROUTING # VOIP $IPT -t nat -A POSTROUTING -o $LAN_IFACE -j SNAT --to-source $INET_IP $IPT -t nat -A POSTROUTING -o $INET_IFACE -s $SIP_SRV_LAN_IP -j MASQUERADE |

On your question regarding NAT, OpenSBC is designed to have a public IP address on at least one network interface. It is possible to use OpenSBC as a bridge between public and private networks, but it is not possible (at least not currently) for OpenSBC to communicate with UAs on the public Internet if it is behind NAT. |

OpenSBC is being used in stable production environments by several service providers that we know of. At Solegy alone, OpenSBC handles transactions for hundreds of thousands of end users and processes millions of call attempts daily. The capacity of a single instance will vary depending on your usage scenario, however you can expect an instance running on an avaerage server (in B2BUA mode with media proxy enabled) to handle several hundred concurrent calls and many thousands of registered users. Higher capacities may be achieved by using load-balancing techniques. If you are interested in a commrcial support arrangement from the people that created OpenSBC, Solegy offers several options check here: http://www.opensourcesip.org:8080/clearspacex/docs/DOC-1000 HTH |

Hi, is opensbc stable enough to put it in a production environment? I mean to handle thousands of call streams, and do you know any how on how to get it done? Thanks so much.. |

The way to accomplish this is through the use of the SIP Session Timer, which must also be supported by any connecting endpoints. More details can be found here: http://www.jdrosen.net/papers/draft-ietf-sip-session-timer-14.txt |

OpenSBC default behavior is to only proxy NAT when the call comes from a private address or is terminating to one. There is no need for a reINVITE to have media flow directly between UA for public-IP calls. Your question is not obvious but I suppose you are asking if you could replace media proxy with OpenSBC? Then the answer to that is yes. |

Hi, I have an openser + mediaproxy server, I want to use opensbc to be my Nat server that handles my RTP stream , because mediaproxy proxyes everything, it does not have P2P stream like in asterisk canreinvite, but may be any one have done it before, and if so please give a clue.. Thanks so much.. |

Joegen, Please confirm whether the CALEA trunks will filter for calls based on the SIP TO or FROM headers. From your notice, it sounds like only the TO header is filtered. |

Hi Everyone, I have recently added a new trunk in OpenSBC called CALEA trunk (refer to SBCCALEATrunk.cxx). What this is, is a separate trunk that handles processing of packets for lawful intercep as mandated in CALEA (Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement Act). Take note that this code is in its infancy and is not complete yet. As of the moment, only the capability to save sip packets to pcap format is in place (rtp packets to follow). Slowly the CALEA trunk will evolve into a fully functional LEA collector. To test, look for the new section in http admin name "CALEA Calls". You will find a text box here name CALEA Filter. This should contain a set of comma delimited SIP URIs that you want to intercept (wild cards accepted). Example: sip:1111*, sip:2222* All calls beginning with 1111 and 2222 will be intercepted by the CALEA trunk. The PCAP dump will be saved in $(OPENSBCDIR)/calea/pcap directory. CAVEAT: There is still a bug in PCAFile.cxx that wrongly computes the ip checksum of the packets. This will show in ethereal. This error is considered benign. |

Dear Joegen, Thank you for your help. The problem was what you suspected. The dns mapping was missing for scscf.mik.bme.hu (I added only mik.bme.hu). Now opensbc works fine between our IMS and SIP systems! Best regards, madar |
