hi robert,
inline
When you installed sipX did you do a manual install?
RDN: what do you mean by manual install? from compile from source? CD? yum? for
mypart i used yum
When you said you installed sipX first, which i take it to mean also the NIC1?
RDN: yes
So that when you created the SSL cert you were using the NIC1's network name in the SSL, is this true?
RDN: for my SSL cert i used the fqdn which is pointed to my first nic
Is this why you choose to use real Public IPs on both NIC1 and NIC2?
RDN: my test involved 3 scenarios, one of them is both NIC has public IP, the other two
scenarios, sipx is having a private ip and OSBC having a public ip. It would not
matter, it all depends on your requirement.
When using public ip for sipX NIC1 did you still use OSBC to register your ip phones'?
RDN: If my UA's are behind NAT, then i would use OSBC for upperreg but if my UA's are
not behind NAT then i could register them directly to SIPX
Where you using OSBC between PSTN or ITSP and sipX?
RDN: my test convered both, PSTN and ITSP
How did you prevent OSBC:5060 from seeing sipX:5060 when running OSBC?
RDN: 3 questions, can send some logs for us to look? if you are experiencing this, does it affect your setup, interms of inbound and outbound calls? i guess you could still have successful calls since sipx already grab that ip, did you try to test?
I have installed Linux, OSBC and sipX more then 10 times and i am unable to prevernt OSBC:5060 from conficting with sipX:5060. I have set MY_IP_Addre = public ip NIC1sipX and set OSBC manually to NIC2 but still OSBC:5060 listener conflicts with sipX:5060. How did you resolved this error?
RDN: please see above answer.
I appreciate your work on the scenarios but could you publish the steps you took to install both OSBC and sipX, the order in which you installed and both config.defs and OSBC Admin Parameter settings.
RDN: i'll be posting it on the wiki this weekend.
