On a canal head in Rio Tietê there is a red light with a white triangle with red band board, how do I tag that? Aun Johnsen |

I run a small daemon script that moves new tiles from a temporary cache to the tile directory once per minute (see ~/tiler in my home directory). Is it possible to automatically re-start this across a re-boot? |

There was a FreeBSD security upgrade and I had some minutes to install it. Unfortunately I not informed this list about the reboot. Best regards, Dominik |

Thanks Malcolm
It shows up now
There was some minor problems with the tagging, updating it at the moment, and should have the next portion of the river imported before the weekend, with this rate I have all of river Tietê imported before the end of the month

That is correct (Assuming that the comma is a typo in your post)
I discovered that the tile server had been restarted, so recent new
tiles had not been moved into place. This has now been cleared.

Malcolm,
Still no seamarks showing up, is there a rendering backlog or have the full URL been changed, the one I have now is t1.openseamap,org/seamark/{zoom}/{x}/{y}.png

Hi Completed the stretch of Rio Tiete between Bariri and Barra Bonito a few days ago, but cannot see this area rendered on the map. The official web map does not load on my slow connection (unstable vessel VSat line), so I try load tiles.openseamap.org directly as a tms layer in josm Since I get no response in the area, are the tiles rendering? Is this the right server? Is there any wrong in my tagging? I need this answered before I continue with other stretches of Rio Tiete, to avoid double work fixing any errors later Aun Johnsen |

Hello Bernard If you only want to use some maps in a garmin haldheld please consider: http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/DE:OpenSeaMap_and_Garmin_nautical_chart_plotter The gmapsupp.img's are there ready to use which makes the use of makegmap etc unnesersarily. Need volunteers! :-) Have a nice day, Dirk |

I assume that it is the CEVNI marks that are causing the problem. The tagging for these is detailed here: http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Openseamap/CEVNI_Lateral_Marks & http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Openseamap/CEVNI_Notice_Marks |

Actually, it doesn't matter which section because I just need it as a template. But if I can choose I would take a section of "Imray M25 Kroatie - Otok Rab tot Sibenik" because I know this area very well. Regards, Bernhard |

Those marine devices have some problematic restrictions which makes map making very complicated. My map works on most non marine devices anyway, but could look better on those units. If you want to create your own map that makes better use of Garmin handheld device´s capabilities, things should be lot easier as you don´t have to care for marine device´s restrictions: 1. Take someone´s mkgmap style of a Topo (hiking or mountain biking) map, that looks good on your device. 2. Include the default marine style (seamark layer) to this style. You have to download mkgmap sources and find it in recources/styles/marine. Unfortunately mkgmap´s seamark rendering capabilities are very outdated. Most older seamark tags are rendered. Some seamarks (about 500 in Europe) cause warnings or errors. But all the new seamark tags defined lately for the upcoming iENC import or water depths are not yet supported by mkgmap, at all. It would be a good idea, if someone familiar with the latest seamark tagging scheme could explain it to the mkgmap developers. Otherwise we will end up with great nautical data in the OSM database, that cannot be used on the water, because it cannot be brought to our GPS receivers. |

Bernhard, We sell all the different Imray Charts in our Vaarwinkel website (www.vaarwinkel.nl). I would be glad to sponsor your work a bit and send you the Imray Chart you require. Just let me know which one would you like to receive. You can also check the update section at the Imray website. For some charts tracings are made available. But I think it is betrer to have just one copy of a whole chart next tou your pc. Greetings, Jaap |

Hi Dirk, I tested now also on IE 10 and everythings seems to work just fine. I checked some bridges in the Schie around Delft. It seems that some of the hights differ a bit from the heighs given in the ANWB Waterkaart H for his part of Holland. It is only centimeters difference and sometimes plus and sometimes minus. I could not see a reason for these differences. I will ask the ANWB when I get so see one of their cartographers. Greetings, Jaap |

Hi! I'd like to create a colored map style for Smrender. Does anybody own an Imray Tetrachart (or similar) who could send me a scanned section of the chart. I'd like to use it as a template. Bernhard |
