Comment

How do Metrik Providers convey information about their operational state to the Metric Consumer, if a clinical user of the Consumer needs to be informed about that operational state, e.g. via display on highest UI level and not just as a hidden setting in a dialog? Such operational states could be e.g. "device in standby".

Proposal

Solutions for the Metric Provider could make use of the MustUnderstand extension. Additionally, a respective Consumer requirement may be required, addressing the MustUnderstand to only relevant Consumers, e.g. „If an SDC METRIC CONSUMER is intended to display the state of a BICEPS PROVIDER to a USER, …”

The Consumer is already forced to consider RISKs that result from using METRICs that are not active, see RR0326. We intend to introduce something similar on other containment tree levels in BPKP.
