The screenshots in the users guide show a field for putting page numbers in a page footer section. How can I put a page number in my own reports? I can't seem to find any information on it in the users guide.
I just found OpenRPT today. I like it.
I thought this was documented somewhere in the Userguide however I wasn't able to find it with a quick search. In order to get what you want you want to use the "Context Query" and specify the column name to be page_number. This is one of a few that are availabe.
Here is a quick list of the fields available from "Content Query"
page_number -- The current page number
report_name -- pulled from the properties dialogs of the report
report_title -- pulled from the properties dialogs of the report
report_description -- pulled from the properties dialogs of the report
report_date -- the date the report is rendered
report_time -- the time the report is rendered
report_date and report_time currently are implimentation specific so you may not get the expected results. You can create a query that gets this information from the database until a more generic implementation of those values is created.
can we print the page numbers in 'page number/total page numbers' format?
yes we can. <field - context query "page_number"> <label "/"> <field - context query "page_count">
