Hello Nick and list subscribers, Thank you for the update of OpenQuicktime.pm you sent me. It seemed to=20 work, but now there's another problem: Video::Info doesn't pass the test = scripts. I think I give up for the moment. :-) > I will have a look at it but things should stabilize once we release=20 > OpenQuicktime 2.0. Do you have any ideas on how far away release 2.0 is? Anyway, what I intended to do is to write a perl script that can=20 identify media files (video and audio) and extract information from=20 them, such as size, length, framerate, bitrate, comments, ID3-tags and=20 so on. Maybe some of you with more experience from media files can point me to=20 another solution (using OpenQuicktime actually seem to be a little bit=20 overkill for this purpose)? I'm also interested in technical=20 specifications of different media files (in worst case, I'll write my=20 own detection and information extraction algorithms :-)).
