After following the guide when I try to create a VM in the Cloud I get these errors every time.
cloudvm.class.php Warning ! There is no active virtualization host type KVM Host available to bring up a new vm
cloudvm.class.php Notice : Trying to find a Host which can start-from-off …..
Any ideas what is wrong with my setup or where to look I have the appliance and cloud products setup.
I still get this message when I try to use the cloud plugin with the image shelf, but every image use I get an error with no bootable device, is anybody else getting that?
Just a try. Do kindly check your Appliance and make sure you physical host set Type = KVM Host.
Hope it helps.
I saw your earlier post regarding that and made sure it was set correctly set in the appliance. Here is what the event log says:

Any ideas? when I go to the console it says no bootable device, but it does attempt to create the vm
1 blaze1 1 512 MB 172.24.9.200
Now the one thing I do see is under the config for that vm is there is no disk listed, don't know if this helps.
Is your setup only in a single machine? openqrm Server/KVM Host in ONE?
yes for now.
In your Virtualization Products you did add already your KVM VM? and in your KVM plugin did you try to select your physical host then add the VM (at the upper right corner "VM" link to add) temporarily. after which just try if its work. In your Resource Pools under Configuration did your physical host set Assigned to Default? hope u did. Is your image being created and your lv being populated already?
Hope it helps otherwise pls send me your screenshot from Appliance down to KVM plugin

Here are my screenshots
Sorry here they are
Do try to enable / start kvm-storage plugin and create KVM LVM Storage for your KVM-Storage host. Try also to create then an Appliance from your openqrm server as KVM-Storage Host as Type.
Hope it helps.
This is the vm I created with the cloud plugin, but I can't access it and it goes into error state.
3 lopez1 00:00:8D:50:AB:E8 172.24.9.198 KVM-Storage VM on Res. 0 0/512 1 2 0.00
ok I was able to create the vm but it is in an error state, and when I look into the kvm storage vm manager I see this
3 lopez1 1 512 MB 172.24.9.198
but it is off and I can start it but it then goes into an error state.
Just remove the VM on your KVM Storage (only the VM). Try create only the VM on KVM VM Manager. Please do check also your memory resources if you still have enough for your VM otherwise as I experience I encountered error could not create a new resource.
ok sorry, yes I can boot to an iso with no issues.
When I go through and make a vm and then attach an image with an appliance I get and VM. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5260075/working1.tiff and when I just make a vm i get with the cloud plugin i get the same http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5260075/noboot1.tiff
Sorry my last post might be confusing, I can make a vm using the kvm lvm storage plugin with no issues. If I use the cloud plugin for the same process I get no bootable device.
Please do kindly add
KVM - Storage VM
in your Virtualization Products first before your cloud request.
22 KVM-Storage VM 1 KVM Storage VM KVM Storage VM
Did you select your image and set the resource type to KVM Storage VM?
yes I did
I did just notice under images here was this weird cloud image that I didn't create that was attaching itself to my requests so I removed it and just verifying that everything else is correct.
Here is the weird image that pops up when I create a cloud vm http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5260075/weirdimage.tiff does your qrm create that as well?
yes, its normal. every cloud request you've made its creates an image so with a corresponding LV in your vg. Try this in your term
and it shows all you LVs
ahhh ok so then any ideas why my cloud plugin doesn't work?
I think only Matt could resolve on it. If ever I find solution just let you know. By the way, did you install these packages? kvm and kvm-storage and did you also activate the kernel modules via modprobe kvm_intel (if is it an intel processor).
Do hope anybody here in the forum who already fixed same issues of yours have a kind heart to help you out.
