Between helping with the baby here and figuring out just what the right solution of hardware and software for a PVR is and writing some code for it. I think my new scheduler is done. Well it needs cleaning up as it still has copious amounts of debug output but it is much more efficient that it's predecessor. I can put lots of syndicated programming into it and it produces a achedule in decent time. I am pretty much zeroed in on my capture hardware and software, as well as output-to-tv hardware. I am still trying to find just the right settings for framebuffer output for NTSC TV. I have started on an OSD for choosing programs to watch. Right now it's just a list of programs on the screen and choosing one, it plays. I have also been playing with a Zoltrix TV Genie capture card with IR remote. The card sorta works with bttv (some channels don't tune) and the IR is not as of yet supported. I need to get it proved (used hardware, who knows if it even works) in windows before I start trying to make LIRC work with it and that has been a trial. I think the card is junk actually. I think I will start to look a different LIRC option -- one that hopefully does not mean my having to build hardware. That is where I am right now. Anything in particular you wanted to discuss? b. --=20 Brian J. Murrell |
