    project files that I create in openproj somehow are getting corrupted and I can't open them after i close them.

    When I used the bat file to start openproj, I see this in the console:

    {java.io.StreamCorruptedException: BigInteger: signum-magnitude mismatch}

    Then a list of places where the exception is found. Then

    { Job Exception: importFile
    java.io.StreamCorruptedException: BigInteger: signum-magnitude mismatch}

    Any ideas how I can prevent this, and how I can recover the file?

    Thanks

    Hello

    I have the same problem as Dean. I would dearly love to use Openproj  to avoid the costs on MS Project but if you cant open a previously saved file create dwith the same version just minutes before all is lost!!.  I have built a plan of around 100 lines with resources and costs twice now so I have a few samples.  I believe the file is being corrupted/or saved incorrectly during the saveas process. I have saved data on a remote server as a backup and then copied it back when the copy I ws working on would not open. This worked one time butis not working any more.  Also print scaling is very funky.

    If anyone could help me please send me an email at jcpreston22@gmail.com and I will send you the file samples that wont open and give you more detail.

    Thanks
    John

    Hi,
    I have a similar problem with OpenProj Version 1.4
    A month ago I created a file and used it till yesterday.
    This morning I opened it but nothing happened in the interface.

    Running openproj.bat I get:

    There is an incompatibility in OpenProj with newer projects particularly from Microsoft Project 2010.  We are releasing a new version currently titled ProjectLibre that will correct the issues.

    I have this problem as well.  I've been able to open the corrupt project file on another machine and save as xml which I can open on my main machine, but I'd prefer to know that I'm not going to have to recreate the project file on a regular basis.

    Hi , I just posted a note on the pending release of ProjectLibre which will fix the issues you are having.  We are hosting ProjectLibre on SourceForge as well.  We were the founders and developers of OpenProj and happy to be updating it……………

    * Bug fixes (many, many, many)
    * Microsoft Project Import/Export fixed
    * Printing being added
    * other items

    Is there a workaround in the meantime?

    Guys, this problem was adressed in more forums already. You have Java 7 on your machines. Remove this completely and replace with Java 6. That will do.

    Yeah,  the first major update to OpenProj since we got acquired by Serena is coming out tomorrow.  ProjectLibre was a major rewrite and includes compatibility with MIcrosoft Project 2010, bug fixes, printing of reports, a ribbon UI and more.  You can download ProjectLibre also on Sourceforge. We also launched a community site at http://www.projectlibre.org   There are images and other information on the community site.  It would be good to get your feedback on ProjectLibre
