I thought we should start this project by first introducing ourselves.
My name is Ralph Whitbeck I am Senior Developer at Navistream Corporation based in Rochester, NY. I work on Dynamic Web Sites using technologies such as ASP and SQL Server. I also have experience in building XML sites from SQL Server as well. I have also done some minor work on some internal PHP/MySQL web sites.
You can see most of my work at http://www.dailyguideposts.com. This is an inspiration site for the magazine Guideposts and Angels on Earth.
I dual boot into both Windows 2000 and RedHat 7.2 (Havn't had time to upgrade to 7.3, it only came out this morning). I run IIS with the PHP mod and MySQL and SQL server on my Windows 2000 partition (this should be good when testing the beta version for compatibility with the Windows platform) and I have apache with PHP and MySQL on RedHat.
I asked to join this project because I am new to the open source community and I would like some experience working on a project like this.
Please let's have everyone introduce themselves. 8 more intros to go!
Later,
RedWolves2

My name is Chris Boertien. I'm an 18 year old High School student. I have been studying mysql and linux for the last few months. My only databasing background was a course in Access 2000.
My goal out of this is more for experience in a project environment. I believe that I have a decent comprehension with SQL and Databasing and learn quick.
I'm looking forward to meeting the rest of the team.
I can be reached on AIM as clboertien8. How about setting up an IRC channel that we can get together at and more fluently share ideas. Just a thought.

Formal Qualifications are, B.Sc. in Software Engineering from Glasgow Uni, also am a CIW, and am doing an M$ thing for networks/internet.
For the moment I'm only available to speak to 'live' using MSM.
We should agree on a common platform and 'try' to arrange a meeting of sorts!
If ur wanting ne more info on me, www.mcgarvie.net has my CV on it.
Only 6 more to go now!

Oh, most of above has been done using PHP or JSP primarily, with typically Oracle/Informix, tho for small-medium projects I generally use/reccomend PHP & MySQL, larger projects... PHP & any bigger DB.

A little about myself. I'm mainly a Java and C programmer. I work for a Financial company in Irvine Ca. I'm 24 , married and just bought my first house.
My OS of choice is Linux. I have two computers here at work. My Linux box is for development of C and java programs. My Winblows box is for testing multi platform . My AIM name is joebeew. Since I spend all my time at home working on my house I dont' get to use the internet. So i use it here at work. They have all the ports blocked out so IRC isn't good for me. I would prefer either AIM or the forums or lists. Thanks again and talk to you later.
