DATELINE MAY 18, 2003 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE The Community OpenORB 1.3.1 suite released. May 18, 2003 (The INTERNET). The Community OpenORB team today shipped the Community OpenORB 1.3.1 suite release. This bugfix release follows the 1.3.0 release after 7 months of development done on the SourceForge (http://sourceforge.net/) servers by a team of developers across the world. The major changes over the 1.3.0 release includes: - Handle fragment messages correctly - Handle byte order marker problems with wstring - Make corbaloc work with ',' and '/' again - Use JSSE 1.0.3_01 in SSL module as it may be distributed - Display naming contexts in management board correctly A full list of changes can be found in each package of the Community OpenORB suite. The release consists of the following packages: o OpenORB o SSL o NamingService The Community OpenORB suite is available for free under an Open Source license (The OpenORB Community Software License). The Community OpenORB suite: ---------------------------- The suite is an implementation of the Common Object Request Broker Architecture also known as CORBA(r); a specification by the Object Management Group(tm) (OMG). The core currently implements the 2.4.2 specification with work being done to bring it up to the 2.6.1 sepcification. The Community OpenORB suite also includes the following OMG services: o Concurrency Control Service o Event Service o Interoperable Naming Service o Notification Service o Persistent State Service o Property Service o Time Service o Trading Service o Transaction Service The Community OpenORB suite contains no native code and is implemented in pure Java(tm). The Community OpenORB suite is a community fork of the open source project OpenORB (http://openorb.exolab.org/). The goal of this initiative is to make the evolution of the OpenORB project more transparent and to allow the community to take part in making decisions about its future.
