I want to write an app using OpenObex v1.3 (Win32) to communicate with a Nokia 7610 phone via USB. Does OpenObex currently support USB on Windows?
I looked thru the archives and saw a response to this back in 2006 - said that OO does not currently support USB. Someone please tell me this isn't true.
And if this is the case...does anyone here know whether OO developers are working on a solution? And when it might be available?
OpenOBEX supports Win32 and USB using Hendriks patch set. See http://dev.zuckschwerdt.org/openobex/wiki/ObexWin32
Precompiled DLLs are available. See http://dev.zuckschwerdt.org/openobex/wiki/ObexDownloads
If your project is roughly "copy/push files with obex" see also http://dev.zuckschwerdt.org/openobex/wiki/ObexFtpBindings for some easy language bindings. C# will be added soon (final tests are underway). Java is not really a target, we need to find interested developers yet.
That is good news! Thanks very much for the tip...
I assume that the libusb-win32 filter setup will work out-of-the-box. I don't really know how to setup the plain libusb-win32. Feedback is appreciated. Also contact me by mail if you need support with the bindings. Especially if you want to try the new C# binding.
