I try to get a local Opennms server to send traps from behind a firewall to a central Opennms server. I am able to send the traps and receive them and get events generated on the central server. I have defined a trap to generate an "interface down" event. Sending the trap with agent address set to an exising interface in the Opennms database generates an interface down event for the correct node. In the "home view" Opennms indicates all services on the interface are down, but no nodes are listed in "Nodes with outagees". Clicking on the Overall sevice Availability lists the node with 7 of 7 outages and a degraded availability. The Node status view however lists all services 100% availability an no recent outages. The linkDowb trap event is correctly listed with the node. How can I consistantly generate outages ( and clear them again) from traps? How can two different hosts with identical IP send traps to OpenNMS and be correlated to two different nodes. Øyvind Jelstad Cumulus IT AS |
