Read Me

The original intention of this project was to create an open-source framework
for a network IP camera. However, the architecture goes beyond this specific
application to support many different kinds of special purpose devices that
are based on web services.
 
Refer to the document opennetcam.odt for a description of the open network 
camera philosophy.

The openNetcam Project is based on the SIMPL Project communication modules.
It defines a number of dedicated, low level nodes that communicate via SIMPL
messaging.  Over time we will develop a rich library of these modules, both 
generic and special-purpose to address an ever-widening pool of applications.
